Yes. Planholders have 60 days to pay their plan installment. During this period, the planholder enjoys all the rights and privileges pertinent to the plan. If, however, the plan installment remains unpaid, after the end of the grace period, the plan is considered lapsed. Still, the planholder is given two (2) years to reinstate the plan.

A planholder of a lapsed plan loses all rights pertinent to the plan except the right to re-activate the plan through a process called reinstatement.

All plan types have "Guaranteed Cash Values", a schedule of which is printed at the back of the contract. Should you decide to terminate the plan at any time, as if you decide to stop paying, you can request for the cash value of the plan at the given time.

Memorial Service Benefit is the core benefit of a life plan. Upon death of a planholder or assignee and subject to the pre-determined amount called Life Plan Value and Increment, if any, memorial services shall be rendered by an accredited mortuary in the Philippines. The scope of memorial services includes the following:

Phase 1 – First call

Upon death of the planholder or assignee, the authorized representative shall call Eternal Plans to inform and request for memorial services. A representative of Eternal Plans will initiate the provision of memorial services with the accredited mortuary.

Phase 2 – Preparation, Cosmetics and Casketing

The servicing mortuary shall perform the embalming, restoration of disfigured body parts (if any), application of cosmetics, and placement in the appropriate casket. The kind of casket will depend of the fund for memorial services.

Phase 3 – Viewing and Final Arrangements

Facilities for wake shall be provided at home or mortuary. The number of days will depend on the plan type chosen.

Phase 4 – Trip to the interment site

The mortuary transports the deceased to the interment site. The plan benefit covers 25 km radius from the viewing place to the interment site.

Depending on the plan type chosen, please note the following relative to memorial service benefit:

The Memorial Services Benefit may also be used to render cremation services.

The Memorial Service Benefit may also be used for an assignee or a deceased other than the

planholder.

Upon death of the planholder, if there is no accredited mortuary in the area or if the memorial service was not facilitated by Eternal Plans, the Memorial Service Benefit shall be released to the beneficiary in the form of Unrendered Service. The amount of unrendered service benefit will depend on the plan type bought.

If the Memorial Service Benefit (fund) is not sufficient for the desired (upgraded) memorial services, the bereaved will pay any variance to the accredited mortuary.

A pre-need plan is considered cancelled, if the plan is not reinstated within two (2) years after the lapse of the grace period.

Assignment means that the memorial service benefit of a life plan may be used for a deceased person other than the planholder. Please refer to the life plan contract for the application of the benefit.

Yes. All plan types are transferable. Thus, a plan may be donated or sold to another person.

This is a one-year period commencing on the effectivity of the insurance coverage within which the insurance company has the right to contest (argue against) any insurance claim. After the one-year period, any claim arising from the insurance benefits shall be deemed incontestable.

Our sales associates are authorized to collect payments from their planholders provided that they issue a provisional receipt. It is one of the personalized services that we give to planholders.

Note: You will be asked to present your current installment due notice in paying at these offices.

The company maintains a trust fund for the sole purpose of delivering the benefits. This trust fund is independently managed by Bank of the Philippine Islands, Banco de Oro and Citystate Savings Bank and closely monitored by the Insurance Commission (IC).

If upon death of the planholder and the memorial service benefit of the life plan is not used for whatever reason, the applicable memorial service benefit or a portion thereof, depending on the plan type, is converted to cash and released to the beneficiary as “unrendered service benefit.” Please refer to the life plan contract for the application of the benefit.

We advise planholders not to go directly to the mortuary, accredited or not, to ensure that the applicable memorial services are rendered.

Upon receipt of the advice or request for service a memorial service representative of Eternal Plans will initiate the memorial services with an accredited mortuary.
